Here I Am Lord

There are verses of scripture that probably come to mind with that phrase... and songs... and personal experiences. It's such a great phrase!
Earlier this week, Bethany Pedigo (co-founder of Relay Worship) and I were crafting the future curriculum of the Relay Worship Residency program and came across these words in the story of Moses at the Burning Bush (Exodus 3:4).
Here I Am, Lord.
Such a simple phrase.
And yet everything about the life of Moses was changed. Everything about the people of Israel was changed. Everything about world history was changed. And since the Exodus-event is a precursor to the Christ-event, the eternity of billions of people was to be changed.
Four words: Here I Am, Lord.
Four words that lead me to ask two very simple questions of myself, and -- if I may be so bold -- of you:
When's the last time you said those four words to your Father in heaven?
When's the last time you gave those you lead in worship a chance to say (or sing) those words to our Father in heaven?
Okay, maybe one more question as you let those two simmer... in how many ways could you give the opportunity to folks in your ministry circle, in your congregation, the occasion to say, "Here I am, Lord?"
If you have a specific story or idea, please drop a comment or shoot me a text at 502.229.0114. I'd love to hear about it!
